Laptop processor upgrade

I have a Toshiba Satellite 1005-s157.

It has a celeron 1.066 Ghz which is a .13 micron based on the PIII.

It has the Intel 830 MG chipset.

Is it possible to change out the chip and if so where can I find which chips would go with this m/b and where to buy them.

Looked on NewEgg and they did not have Intel Mobile chips.

Also, if possible I would like to find a chip that uses less power so the lousy battery last longer.

AFAIK Laptops are properitery (SP?) systems and most parts need to be replaced via the manufacture of the laptop. I too have a toshiba 1500 series. I love my laptop however like you said, the battery sucks. I think battery problems are like for most laptops. could be wrong tho.

Check out the toshiba online store and see if they have upgradable parts.

Just remember that most laptop parts are pretty spendy.
