samba file server

Ok need some help configuring samba 3.0 with use of active directory (my win2k server is my domain controller). I checked the samba.org site and googled with no success. Has anyone set one up with success, where the windows machine would log into the samba server and use there domain user name??? Basically im getting a message that my windows machines dont have access to the samba server, but when i switch the security settings back down to anythign but domain it works. I can get it to work with having all the users in the win_domain entered manually into the users for samba but that is def. the long way on how to do it. If someone can tell me how they did it or post there smb.conf file i would greatly appreciate it. Any help would be awesome.

-P.S. I did setup the smb server on the domain controller so it would be trusted.

(no one in the linux forum was able to help)

Did you make a user account for the domain controller to use when connecting to the Samba server? That was necessary for me to get access to my samba server, altho I don't have a domain controller.

It's all I can think of, sorry.

Well I'm not good with domains and stuff but I had to create a samba user/password file on the linux server and then append a username and password to that file (can't remember the command right now, sorry, will look for it) and use that account to access the samba server. You need the same account as a user on the linux system to set permissions on shares.

Again, I'm not good with domains with W2k server. I hope you can get this working.
