GeForce4 MX440 or GeForce3 Ti200 - Which is better?

I have a GF3 Ti200 and it works pretty good. Would the GF4 MX440 be an upgrade or is it stripped down?

I have a GF3 Ti450 Gold Pack and I love it. Beats any GF4 MX IMO.

Of course, I can OC mine easy. I don't really know how a non-OCed GF3 Ti200 would do against a GF4 MX.

IMO bottom line is the GF4 MX is a newer chip, but low end.

GF3 Ti is a older chip, but high end.

The G4MX series is based off the G2MX. They are budget, have no pixel shaders, etc. Huge downgrade.

I had to make that choice a few months ago and ended up going with the GF3 Ti200 and haven't looked back

It would be a slight step down.

Ti200 all the way, the gf4 MX is just a gf2 core with the crossbar memory controllers from a gf3/4 tacked onto it.

For the most excellent and comprehensive review showing what cards are worth putting in what speed systems and how they perform relative to each other, check out this review. It compares 31 different cards in both an Athlon 1.0ghz and an XP 2700+ system.
