Systems Temp concern after system upgrade

I added sopme stuff to my system last night. Three hard drives, for a total of SIX and a new heatsink, and PSU. I have detailed specs on the system listed below, with link where needed.

I am a little concerned about the temps.

My temps are:

Motherboard 23C (73F)
CPU 58C (137F)
Aux 30C (86F)
Room temp is approx mid 70's F

I used to leave my system on 24/7 but last night I turned it off, cause the temp made me nervous. Is there anything I should be doing or something I need to add? Or is this temp fine with the system I have?

thanks!

The temps are pretty standard except for the CPU:

Motherboard 23C (73F)
CPU 58C (137F)

and there's like a 35C degree difference between cpu and motherboard. I think that over 25 degree difference means that the heatsink for the cpu is not doing it's job or you applied too much thermal paste or artic silver.!
You should check into that.!

I just ran a thread in a different forum asking the folks to post their system temps. It seems like the average system vs CPU temps at 15 degrees or less.

As I write, my system temp is 25 degrees C., my CPU temp is 41 degrees C.

What was the system vs CPU temps before the upgrade? (I missed that if you stated it in your post).

If it were I.. I would be seriously looking at the heatsink and fan setup. Too much thermal paste, a thermal pad not working properly, heatsink not set flat onto the cpu core .. heatsink just not quality etc.

your cpu temp is a bit high. mine is running 41 ~ 42 C at average usage. re-consider changing or trying other hsf. imo

That temp is a bit on the high side. It shouldn't do any damage but it wouldn't hurt to bring them down. I've got a 2500+ overclocked to 3200+ and i'm always in the 40's.

I think it is the thermal paste. A little packet came in the heatsink box and the b/f used the ENTIRE packet. I wiped some off, but I guess not enuf.

Do I need to remove the heatsink and wipe away more, or will it take care of itself?

Thanks...

YOU ARE NOT SUPPOSSED TO USE THE WHOLE PACKET.!!

Just a small thin layer of paste will do! So yes, I suggest you buy more paste or artic silver, remove all that you already applied and use the new one but like I said just a thin layer will do.!

That's why the cpu is so hot, the heatsink is not making enough good contact with the core of the cpu!

If this makes any sense, the thermal paste is simply there to fill in the microscopic imperfections in the HS and processor core. When I apply thermal paste, I spread a small amount on the HS, then clean it off with a knife, then wipe it off with plastic. I apply a VERY thing layer to the core of the processor. I've had great success in applying less instead of more.

Like I said, think of the paste as a simple imperfection filler for the HS and core. Nothing more, nothing less

it seems that is your termal paste, your temps were very high. my cpu is 31c (87f) and mobo 28C (82f) right now and NEVER reaches more than 115f (cpu) under any load.
