Ok I'm building a rig for a church and they want it to be able to video the service in real time and stream it to a monitor in the lobby area. So when people go out with kids they wont miss anything. now i was thinking we could use a standard analog camera and use something like this http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...1010&CatId=314 to stream it into the system. will it work??
Well I would think the cheaper solution would to just have some sort of camera that is linked directly to the TV in the loby. Or for that matter have it on a Wireless transmitter that you could then send to a couple TVs that are in different areas. I think they can be found pretty cheap on the internet but I couldnt tell you where, I just know they exist.
split the line? so it still send to all TVs and the computer just sucks up what ever comes down the pipe?
Even still I still think you could use the wireless approach... If the wireless uses RCA cables like I think most do a TV card like the TV Wonder Pro from ATI could capture the video off of that and record while the TVs in the loby are still getting the signal as well.
I would dd what phenious is suggesting. It's going to be much more simple than going into a computer and out to a monitor. Plus if the computer goes down the monitors will still work.
I also believe this would be the less costly solution.
