does anyone know what this file does? its located in C:\windows

I don't have that file. I run Win98SE and Win2K in a dual boot setup..and a search for that file turned up nothing.

Right click that file and select properties from the context menu..search the properties to see if you can determine who wrote the file. Maybe it is associated with some application you have installed...or...it may be a trojan.

I've just ran a search and that file doesn't seem to be there. I would suspect it to be a virus.

Download AVG from www.grisoft.com or if you already have an anti-virus program already, run a scan.

Also, download Ad-aware from Lavasoft (I think it's www.lavasoft.com , but i'm not sure).

PS, what's with all the posting Bovon, you're not usually posting here .

I have been coming here ever since the forums were setup. I read a lot but posted little because any thread I may have had a little input into was covered up in good and proper fashion...and I try to not "muddy the water" any.

In the recent past however, I see quite a few threads with no inputs (and I think I have something to try) or, most of the input already posted are off base IMO..so, I also offer something.

Maybe some of the older, wiser and technically better heads have taken a hiatus ??

almost right optimus. the correct url for ad-aware is: http://www.lavasoftusa.com/

anyways... youll haveta look around the site for the free version. most of the time it will take you to the "not-so-free" versions for download. just hunt for it.

Trend micro doesn't list it in their database and neither does spybot. Google can't find a trace of it either.

You sure you spelled it right?
Maybe installed with a program?

when i try to shutdown winxp pro, i get 2 windows trying to end processes already running in the background, jvjtym.exe and swsoc.exe, the latter is from coldfusion, which i just found out. google turned out nothing for jvjtym.exe..hmm odd
