Copy a Ripped DVD on the Fly with Nero

If you have a backup copy of an original DVD on disc, there is no need to store the needed files on your hard drive, because you can make a second copy relatively quickly...

Required Hardware and Software:
1. DVD-ROM
2. DVD-RW
3. Nero version 5 or 6

Note this method of copying a DVD movie will not work with an original encrypted DVD. It will only copy a DVD that has been ripped. To make a copy of an original DVD see the following articles:

Let’s say you have already made a copy of an original DVD and you deleted the related files from your hard drive to save space and now you wish to make a second copy. Well the fastest way that this is possible is to copy your back up on the fly. This method will even work with movies that have been decrypted and burned with DVDXCopy.

Open Nero Buning Rom

Under File \ Preferences… select the Cache tab, disable the option: "Drag and drop from CD-ROM Drive” - Cache files that have been dragged over from a CD-Rom Drive, and press O.K.

Then select File \ New and choose DVD-Video. Disable the Caching in the Misc tab. If you wish you could also give your DVD a name in the Label tab. Then hit the New button.

Place your copied DVD disc in the DVD-ROM and a blank DVD-/+R disc in the DVD-RW. In the file browser select your DVD-ROM and highlight all the files in the Video_ts folder and drag these files to the Video_ts created by Nero. Then hit the burn buttons… and wait until your copy is done.

It took me 13 min to copy a disc using this method… If you have a backup copy of an original DVD on disc there is no need to store the needed files on your hard drive, because you can make a second copy relatively quickly.
