Mac - PC Keyboard?

Fellow Members:

I am very curious about something a friend told me regarding Mac computers, to wit: "You cannot use a PC keyboard (e.g. an IBM) on a Mac computer."

Is that right? I know absolutely nothing about Mac computers, so I find this hard to believe. What's the deal?

Thanks!

Brangwen

Well, I know my keyboard, the MX Duo one, works with PCs and Macs. So mine does.

Can a Mac keyboard be used on a PC? This is very interesting. I have never heard of it before. My Elite Duo keyboard is also able to be used on a Mac.

If it's USB it most likely can work. Older macs had some non PS/2 type connector looking similar to S-Video. Maybe that's what he is refering to?

If it's a usb keyboard, a mac can use it. You can use a mac keyboard on a pc with a usb port as well...some of the keys behave a little funny though because of small differences between pc and mac keyboards. The number pad is a little different on a mac keyboard as well as the apple key.
