Gaming need help uninstalling mandrake linux!!

I have an old PC of mine with Mandrake Linux 8.6 installed on it. I am selling it to a friend of mine, and he needs the system by tommarow night. I thought i knew what i was doing, thought it would be pretty easy to uninstall linux, and install windows XP, but thats not the case.

I tried booting right to the windows XP cd, for some reason it doesn't want to boot to CD rom, keeps giving me a "failure" response when i try to. The CD is fine aswell, i checked it out on another system.

If anyone has any suggestions, it would be greatly appreciated!!!

Did you set the BIOS to boot from the CD Rom?

Also I am not sure XP can remove the linux partition.

At Home

Be sure to enter BIOS and re-select the boot sequence to CD-ROM followed by HDD0. Put the Windows XP install disc in the CD-ROM, save the changes to BIOS and allow the PC to boot. It should then boot to the install disc.

I recently replaced an install of SuSE with Windows XP. I had to clear CMOS in addition to the above to get it to boot to the install disc.

The HD manufactures disk works in every case I tried. Maxtor, western D, and Samsung. Also the Mandrake disk.
