Dual Monitor & TV Display

What is a good video card around $100 (prefer less) that is decent for a dual monitor setup. I'm not a big gamer (only sometimes) so I don't need the best. I just want to use it for photoshop; keeping one monitor for tools and the other for my workarea.

I would also like to know which vid card is would be good to stick in another computer to play DVDs on my TV. What kind of outputs am I looking for? My TV only has the standard coax and RCA plugs (no s-video).

just get any card with an svideo port and get an svideo to rca adapter. some brands include an adapter with the card (like my powercolor 9600 pro)

well you can get a sapphire radeon 9600 for $108 on newegg.

There is a range of prices, but if you are doing photo work, as I do, Matrox is hands down the best. I have one of the more expensive ones, the Parhelia 256, but one of the G series should suit you fine.

Radeon9000 worked fine when I had it (for dual display), you need a dvi->vga adapter though (Should come with the package).

For your second thing, anything that has composite output (I'm assuming here that the rca plugs also have video in).

You need to have some sort of video in (scart, composite, svhs) in the tv to be able to output something into it.

Sigh... Thank heavens for the caching system... I saw 0 replys when I started writing this...

oh yes my radeon 9600pro came with a dvi>vga adapter also, and i'm assuming most brands would include this with the 9600 also.

what's composite output? all you need is svideo port + svideo>rca adapter + free rca port on tv or vcr for tv display

for the dvds on a tv thing you might also want to get a sound card with audio out to play it on your tv speakers unless you have some really powerful pc speakers
