As the title states Will an AGPx8 card go in AGPx4 Slot?

I was thinking of getting an Ati 9600XT to go in my A7V333.

yes. they pretty much all have to work at 4x. Some wont go back to 1x though, lol. But I think they are all required to go back to 4x and you probably wont see any difference with 8x anyway.

I'm pretty sure it will. My 9800 can work at both 4x and 8x speeds and I think they are backwards compatible.

yes, but also add if we are on cable or dsl also, lol. Cuz dialup is so slow. I asked this single girl for a date once...when I was on dial up...by the time my question made it to her she was married with 2 kids!

A clear Yes. 8x gear, by AGP standard, MUST be compatible to 4x gear on the other end. So 8x cards must run on 4x boards, and 8x boards must accept 4x cards.

Compatibility below 4x mode is another story. That is optional, again on both ends.
