Kids Sometimes My Maxtor Drive Won't Boot Up!?

Hello,

Well, sometimes when I boot up my pc, I get to windows and notice that my 'D' drive isn't available. I then have to reboot and mess with CMOS a little until it reads it again...

And then it gets detected. But it always does this every so often.

What's causing this? And how could I fix it? I've only had this drive for 2 years and it's a 60g Maxtor.

Thanks.

Hey I've had that problem before, not nearly as bad as you but it has failed to spin up sometimes. All I have to do to make sure it will start up again on next boot is to shut down, disconnect it, power on, shut down, reconnect it, and then it should spin up. But it looks like Maxtor may have some QA testing to do...
