Kids Thermal Issues and Videocards

I was thinking, heat rises, right? But vid cards are upside down in the slot. Thus, heat is trapped at the base of the card. If they would flip them over, it would allow the heat to escape more efficiently, right? It seems the problem is the positioning of the AGP slot on the mobo. If we did make them flipped over, nVidia cards would bang against all the junk. Will this issue be remedied in the new BTX formfactor?

i'm also wondering about the same thing... but i think video cards and other pci cards are designed so to prevent foreign materials from accumulating on the circuit board. imo.

i agree with dax, im pretty sure that dust accumulation on heatsink and other parts of the (current) underside of the card would cause a lot of problems, including overheating (even fast than having the card the direction it is now)

all we gotta do is send the pci/agp cards parallel with the mobo at different depths compared to the mobo so that all are accessable, and all are free of heat trapping and dust accumulation...
