Kids DVD Compatability

I'm sure everyone's has seen this question before. I'm a new member so forgive me.

I am purchasing a new Dell with the DVD RW+ drive. I want to buy an inexpensive DVD player for my TV.

Where can I go to see a list of players that could play movies recorded in this format?

Thanks.

Welcome to TechIMO!!

This is going to depend on the model DVD burner and which blanks you use. Some of them can burn DVDs with fairly good compatibility, and others are poor. Do you know what the model is?

It's a Dell 8x DVD RW+. I don't know what brands Dell actually uses.

Thanks.

The only 8x DVD burner Dell shows is the Plextor® PX-708A. This is a well regarded drive.

When you shop for a DVD player, bring a burned DVD with you and try it out. You could even bring DVDs in a couple formats. You may not be able to get away with any old $39.99 DVD.

Thanks. I'll do that.

Is there a list of some kind that I could review to get me started?
