help with card cooling!

Hi, i'm running just an old 32mb nvidia tnt-2 (generic) graphics card on a pc (only used for email etc.) except that now the cooling fan has stopped for some reason and the card overheats and won't work properley. Yes the fan is plugged in properley and there is evidence there is power to it as the fan twitches but wont spin properley. I am not sure how to fix this or what i should do... so does anyone have any ideas?

thanks.. RB

The fan is dead. If it is screwed on, you can take it off and replace it. You can d/l Powerstrip and underclock the card so it doesnt run as hot. Or, you can just by a new one for $10-20.

Don't bother, you don't need a fan. Box prob. has enough air flow for that card. I have pci and agp versions with heatsinks only

Pull the round sticker off of the fan and add a couple of drops of oil in the hole. Manually rotate the fan blade back and forth to get the oil to start circulating then add 1 more drop of oil. Put the sticker back on and plug the fan back in to see if it spins again.
You can also get these round stickers at anyplace that sells labels. ie: Target, Walmart, Office Depot, Staples, etc.

The oil I use on my fans (including gpu fans) is RC car oil for the shocks. Associated 100% Pure Silicone Shock Oil 40. Its the only use this oil gets now and it works great on the fans.

Or you can just fashion your own "card cooler" with any case or CPU fan and spare PCI bracket that you might have laying around. I can't see spending a dime to replace the cooling if I didn't have to. Go to the below link and skip to the section called The BIG Fan to see what I mean. You probably already have everything you need to do it.
