I was hoping they would go to version 4 and completely redo their drivers like nvidia did. That's one thing that they dont have over nvidia

I think this is the last release with 3.x next year they begin with 4.0...

This is the last 3 series release. It is mostly application-specific updates, as outlined in the release notes. Links are available here....

The big deal is the release of Multimedia Center 8.8 with support for streaming realtime video across a LAN to other systems equipped with a Radeon video card.

As to other updates, 3.10 implements advanced shading extensions for OpenGL, though at this time, you will have little need for this technology unless you are developing OpenGL applications.

I figure this is a good a place as any to post this. I did a full clean out of the 3.9 drivers (used the driver cleaner 2 prog.) and installed the 3.10 drivers. The prob I had with the 3.9 SmartGart not letting my AGP up to 8x worsened. The 3.10 driver would not even stay at 4x, kept resetting to OFF. I guess I'll stick with the 3.9 untill the new drivers come out next year.

Curious, as I have not seen that problem with Catalyst drivers. Have you installed the lastest chipset drivers for your motherboard?

That's likely the problem, the catalysts 3.10 worked for me and stay at the right agp level.
Glad to see they will turn to catalysts 4.0 soon tho.

There is a newer AGP driver out for the Asus P4SDX that I needed to get, once I did a full clean and install of the 3.1 it set to 8x from the get go.
