Problem...
I just got FFXI a few nights ago. I installed it, and it ran fine. I played it for about two hours. But when I woke up the next day there was a problem. Whenever I tried logging into the PlayOnline viewer, it would shut my monitor off. Not only that. But if I were running anything else, it would shut my monitor off after awhile as well.
I finally got it to the point where I could repair it with the XP disk. And when it did, a message saying that a major error had been fixed. But the POV still shut down my monitor. So I tried reinstalling POV. But when I did, my computer went back to where it was before. Shutting my monitor down whenever I did anything.
Today I reinstalled a fresh copy of XP. And updated my drivers. And I ran it normally for a while with no problems. It seemed to be fixed. I'm running it right now. I reinstalled the POV again. But it did the same thing. But fortunately it didn't screw up my whole computer this time.
So I figured that POV is the problem, and not my video card. My computer meets all of the FFXI system requirements. So why dose POV shut my monitor down?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
