I was on juno dialup long ago...then finally went to adelphia cable. Thats when I posted the above thread.
Well in the above thread I fixed the problem by simply changing the smtp server to "mail". Been using it like that everyday for like 4 months.
Ok, now today I just went to Verizon DSL.
Now I am getting the same error again, lol.
What is the deal? I have tried several different smtp server names "mail" "smtp.juno.com"
Whats up with it?
On their site they have this
Can I get my Juno mail through another mail reader, such as Outlook or Eudora?
At present, we do not support this feature. You can only check your Juno mail through the Juno software or through Juno WebMail. To learn more about Juno WebMail, click here.
But I been doin it for 4 months!!
What should I do? I think they charge for support. Would verizon be able to help me perhaps....it is a dns thing somehow? If I put it back on adelphia it will probably work....so whats the difference between the two??
The exact error is
The host 'mail' could not be found. Please verify that you have entered the server name correctly. Account: 'pop.juno.com', Server: 'mail', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 11001, Error Number: 0x800CCC0D
it recieves just fine..just wont send.
Thanks, JP
