Hi. I have this most frustrating problem which i cannot for the life of me remedy. Every so often, (say every 20-30 mins) i get porn popups on my comp (regardless of whether im offline or online). As well as these popups, everytime i load the computer, i get about 6-8 porn links dumped into my favourites. If i delete them, they reappear again the next time i load the computer up. And finally, my homepage is changed to some porn link. If i change the homepage, the porn link is back again the next time i restart the comp.

I have tried ad-aware, spybot and spy sweeper, all of which have had no effect what so ever. PLEASE SOMEONE HELP ME!!!!!

do you have the latest updates for adware and spybot?

youll just have to do a search on google for the homepage etc to find the fix for it

hello, i am in a similar situation with these porn popups. every time i start my computer i get a bunch of links on my desktop and in my favorites. i have adaware and spybot, both with the recent updates and it keeps reoccuring. .... i have the hijak this thing too and it keeps comming up with alfa-search stuff every time i run it too.... how do i stop IT!\

some of those popups might be from windows messenger (not the IM service). go to start and click run. type services.msc and hit enter. in the list of services scroll down to messenger. right click it and select properties. if the service is running then press the stop button, then go to the drop down for startup type and select disabled (if it isn't already), then hit apply and okay.
other than that i dont know what else you can do.

If you use Google at all. Try installing the new Googlr tool bar. Has a built in pop-up-stopper. That and my firewall, I haven't seen a pop-up in a very long time.

Netscape and Mozilla browsers have an option you can select to block pop ups. But it sounds like you have a very stubborn adware type thing.

hey thanx for the windows messenger thingie! that helpe the popups but the other problem persists.... eveytime i boot my comp.. i get dozens of porn on my desktop and favorites... any remedy for that one??? and alfasearch thingie too keeps changing my homepage..

there seems to be many articles online about fixing that alpha search thing just google remove alfasearch.
