Random restarts

Hi all,

I was having a problem where the screen was randomly freezing up within about a minute of bootup. I replaced the heatsink and PS and everything seemed to work ok. Now after the PC has been on for a while it seems to just either shut off or restart . If it shuts off I have to wait a while and play with the on\off switch on the Ps for a while before it will boot again. I am running an athlon 900 with a cooler master heatsink\Fan and a 400w ps I checked the temp of the processor and it was 45c the system temp was 33c. Does this sound like a bad ps or heat sink not doing its job?

Thanks,

Jutah

I don't have another ps. I didn't use thermal greese the heatsink had one of those pads. The way I got the temp was through PC health in the BIOS.

Thanks,

Jutah

When did problem start, did you install any new memory?
Do you play a lot of graphic demanding games?
Remove pad and apply thermal greese.
