I've just got a Sony DRU-510 external DVD writer (USB2 and Firewire). This writer can write - and + media. The first couple of disks I wrote were Fuji -R and it seemed fine. I then used Imation -R and had a lot problems, unable to complete any Imation disk successfully. I then tried Fuji +R and wrote several of these without any problems. Since using the Fuji +R media I've now had 2 unsuccessful attempts at writing Fuji -R. I have 2 questions.
1. Is there any real advantage of +R over -R, or vice versa?
2. Any comments or experience about brands of media?
Sorry Phen...I should have let the expert handle this. Well, I kind of did if you think about it...all of the worthwhile posts in that thread are from you.

Did you ever complete the article on DVD drives? I'd like to read it.
