Updated - GF4Ti4200 vs ATI based card question

Updated Below

Hello...

Some time ago, I RMA'ed a VisionTek Geforce4 ti4200SE. After waiting for almost two months they inform me that what they will send me will be upgraded to an ATI based card. I checked their website and found that they now make Radeon ATI cards now.

Can someone please be kind enough to explain the difference between these two, which is better and why?

A large request, I know... But I really would like to know, so if some one could either explain it to me or link me to the information, I would really appreciate it.

Thanks in advance,

Did they say which Radeon card they are going to send you? It would help if we knew what to compare to.

this is exactly what he said:

" As far as I can see within our system, the card you sent in will be upgraded to a ATI based card and should be shipping out soon"

But the card I sent him was AGP 128mb, so I have no idea exactly what I am getting back.

Sorry.

The 9600 is better. Its newer, and conforms to Direct X9 specifications. the ti4200 is Direct X8 based. Also, the 9600 has higher clock speeds. If you happen to do a little gaming, you will notice the difference.

I have this now.

But to be honest, I have no idea what the differences are bwetween the Geforces, Ti4xxx, FX's or ATI.
