How to make compter visable online

I'm using a Netgear router and cannot for the life of me figure out how to make one computer completely visable online.I have tried DMZ.But,the machine is still being protected by the fire wall.I want to host online games directly from this pc and the only address that will show up is the one that the DHCP gives each computer. This being 192.138.0.6.I want the ip address that my isp assigns me to show up.How do I do this?Without having to disconnect from the firewall and connecting directly to the cable modem.

you need to forward the ports that game uses to the computer. even if its in the DMZ (which i dont suggest you doing because it opens the whole computer to the internet)

perhaps updating the firmware on the router too

when you give the ip address to the people, you need to give them the isp number. www.whatismyip.com

what game is it btw?

Interesting thing is that I forward all the ports to my game machine and nothing happens.I cannot even host a game through EA servers. But,if I use the DMZ then I can host through EA severs but still can't host directly from my computer. There must be some hidden settings somewhere that is preventing me from doing this.Where I don't know.I updated the router with the latest firmware also.

Could someone please update me on this. I am having the exact same problem.

When I launch Madden is sees my IP as 192.168.0.100

which is obviously an automatic one assigned by my DLink Router. I can't get people to join a game I host using this IP.

Can someone please explain clearly how I solve this problem? Many many thanks.

Jeff
