Geforce FX 5200 128MB VS Geforce FX 5600 128MB card?

Hey,

I'm having difficulties deciding what video card I should upgrade to, currently I have an MSI Nvidia Geforce 4 Ti 4200 64MB video card, I'm interested in a few cards and I'm not sure what would be my best between the following:

1) MSI Geforce FX5200 128MB DDR

2) MSI Geforce FX5200 256MB DDR

3) MSI Geforce FX5600 128MB DDR

More less I'm interested in how the FX 5200 128MB compares to the 256MB version and how the FX 5600 128MB version compares to the two 5200 cards. If anyone can give me some advice that would be much appreciated, thanks.

The 5200 is the budget card of the FX series. I don't think you'll be real satisfied going from a Ti. Only the 5600 is worth it out of all the cards you listed. With the 5600, make sure to check the memory the card comes equipped with if you want 256MB to make sure it isn't the slow, cheaper stuff.

The 5200 is a LOT WORSE than your Ti4200... The 5600 worse in DX8, better in DX9... Overall, not worth upgrading to if you've already got a Ti4200

The 5700 Ultra looks pretty good, as do any of the Radeon cards 9600 Pro and above.

I concur RamonGTP.
4200 to 5200 would be a downgrade.
4200 to 5600, you would be disappointed.
Try the 5700/ultra or the 9600pro/xt then you would notice the difference.
Regards,
Elad.
