Obviously it wasnt nearly as big as the 'A+'..I havent seen many of them listed in job ads except A+...I think maybe security+ could be catching on now.

Go ahead and get one of the microsoft ones too...the 70-210 isnt that hard to get...then you will have "Microsoft Certified Professional" after your name....(looks good, especially to newby type customers etc)

I think one should get all the certs possible especially when they are within easy grasp or paid for already etc. No way it could ever possibly "hurt" anyone to have more certs, lol...unless they had NO experience and really marketed themselves as a genius based on their certs alone.
Id like to have server+ myself cuz my knowledge of practical RAID stuff is near zilch, lol.

totally agree, being paper certified is not a good thing.
the school I am attending is a cisco acaemy, and we have a rack with 3 servers in it, novel, w2000, and the newest one linux, also we have a lot of cisco routers all to play with, also doing a internship at Micrologic Co. here in kansas city.
I seriously dought that I will ever get a job in the fieds as in two more years I can retire, but maybe I will be able to find enough work to supplement my SS
LOL

IMO, the Comptia Server+ test is poorly written and many questions are murky -choosing the best solution of more than one correct answer is sometimes a matter of divination... as in, more a matter of opinion than facts. Take your sweet time studying the RAID stuff and pay particular attention to what industry standards are for RAID implementation with regard to cost, fault tolerance, and performance. If you go in ill prepared you may end up barely passing by only a few percentage points -as I did.
I think Server+ reflects the efforts of Comptia to make their tests more difficult to pass. They have been taking some flack over the fact that their certification tests have been too easy to pass using study guides and brain-dumps, but their answer to this seems to be muddy up the waters rather than raise the level of difficulty.

Jane is a network administrator for a medium size special effects company in Hollywood California, with an office on Melrose that houses 2 servers running Linux, 2 servers running Windows 2000 Advanced Server, a 16 CPU Linux render farm, and 14 dual G4 workstations running OS-X, there is also an 1800GB NAS . Her boss has asked her to recommend a data storage implementation for his home PC that will cost nothing, have absolute fault tolerance even if all the drives fail at once, and will result in him getting her in the sack once she is lured over to his house with the pretense of looking at the PC. Her primary objective is to keep her job, her secondary goal is to see her boss in jail.
Solution 1: Jane should go for it and later sue her boss and the company for sexual harrasment.
Solution 2: Jane should smack her bosses head between RAID 1 drives to make her point redundant.
Solution 3: Jane could install RAID 50 on her bosses machine and RAID bugspray in his coffee at work.
Solution 4: Jane should be walking the corner of Sunset and El Centro looking for interface assistance.
Which solution will best acomplish connectivity between all servers and allow seamless interface between the Mac workstations, render farm, and NAS?
A. Solution 1 only
B. Solution 1 and 3
C. Solution 1, 2, and 3
D. Solution 4 only
E. Solution 2 and 4
F. Solution 1 and 4
G. Solution 3 only
....have fun
