Oh No! Did the /mbr die?

last night, while playing Battlefield 1942, after a long night of surfing the web, I got the feared BSOD. Immediately I rebooted. but my two hdd's are no longer recognized, and don't even show up in the BIOS menu.
here's the system specs:
|*|*|
AMD AthlonXP 1.4 ghz cpu
430w True Power psu
Win2k Advanced Server (desktop application only)
48x cd-rw Lite-On
48x dvd Lite-On
2x 120GB WD 8mb Cache 7200rpm scsi hdds.
geforce3 64mb video card.
overclocked to 1.54ghz (stable) at 48*C.
3Com 3C905-TX pci ethernet card
56k 3com modem V.92
768mb ddr-2700 Crucial RAM.
Chieftec server tower, plenty of cooling fans, including one on the hdds.
|*|*|
currently I'm running Knoppix, which is a version of Linux that runs entirely from a cd-rom drive and the available sys memory. I cannot see any of my hdds (I have partitioned my drives such that my cd-rom drives are "M" and "O" respectively.)
did I erase my /mbr? was it a virus? I do have an available 40gig 7200 WD drive, and was thinking of installing Win2k AS on that, then "adding" the previous drives...seeing if I could at least harvest my data to a network drive.
anyone know of how to fix my problem?
thanks for reading

~Branson

Maybe it's just the SCSI controller missing drivers?

do the drivers just stop working due to a BSOD message? and how would I go about fixing this....I forgot to mention I use an IDE controller card on my system.
I can't even see my drives in the startup sequence.

Can the scsi controller itself see the drives?

yes.
what does that mean? how do I go about fixing this? should I disconnect the drives from the controller card and hook them up from the motherboard connections?
thanks
