many computer problems

my computer was working fine this morning, then I come back from class and have rediculous amounts of pop-ups. So I ran ad-aware 6 and had the latest updates and after quaranteening and deleting the files I restarted my machine. Now, I still have pop-ups but my Internet Explorer doesn't open , it takes forever to me to get to my computer, or control pannel, my scrollbar on my mouse doesn't owrk, and when the CTRL key seems to be stuck down... If any of you can figure this out I would appreciate it if you could hlep me out.

is it XP? you could also try to "restore" it to an earlier restore point, like yesterday or the day before.

I did the system restore for Sunday... Thanks a lot. It worked and everything is back to normal. I think I'm going to have to have a talk with my roommate though. This stuff is starting to happen all the time when I leave for the day and come back and lots of stuff doesn't work.

i agree with Tazzin, if you are using windows2000 or xp, give your roommate a limited access/account. in that way he/she will no longer mess with your setup...
