Microsoft accepts CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+ or Server+ certifications as alternatives to passing elective exams in the Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA) on Microsoft Windows 2000 certification. The MCSA on Microsoft Windows 2000 certification validates the skills of professionals who implement, manage and troubleshoot network and system environments based on the Microsoft Windows 2000 platform. Key areas tested for in the MCSA on Microsoft Windows 2000 certification include installing and configuring parts of the systems and administering and supporting the systems. The MCSA on Microsoft Windows 2000 certification is appropriate for:

MCSA on Microsoft Windows 2000 candidates are required to pass three core exams and one Microsoft elective exam.
