Changing Spell Check Language

How do I change the settings in MS Word so that the spell check will be in another language, in this case Spanish (traditional sort). I've changed the language setting in Word, and the dictionary language setting to Spanish also. Didn't work. This is for Word 97 on a W2k Pro PC.
