Recoginzing Large HDDs

Alright, I've now filled a 200GB HDD with all sorts of sensitive data and I'm thinking of buying a second HDD. Problem is, I know I have to enable 48Bit LBA under Windows XP Pro to be able to see anything above 137GB. If I get a second drive and use it as my primary boot, will all the data on my original 200GB drive be intact as soon as I install SP1 and enable 48bit LBA or is there a risk of losing that data?

This may be a dumb question, but I usually get in trouble while making assumptions of competence related to stablity of data issues in WinXP.

Thanks,

Tim.

My suggestion is to partition the new drive into more than one drive. This way you can have your data on another partition so if Windows gets corrupted or anything you can plug the drive in another computer.. and pull all the sensitve data off and or Reinstall Windows without risking your data being lost.
