My Ati 9800 pro 128mb is only rated 3800's with 3Dmark 03. Isn't this a little low?

That is low for that setup.

- Latest drivers
- Performance Settings for testing
- Set AA/AF to Application Preference

I would think you should be breaking 4K easy.

This guide shows you how your vid card should be setup.

Very easy. 9800 usually hit 5-6000 with that.

Way too low

I'm running AMD 2400xp, with 512 pc 2700 on a Biostar NV2-ultra 400 board(the cheap generic one). Nothing is overclocked and I'm using all performance settings in my driver settings. I get an average 3dmark 2k3 score of 5300. So yes, you are getting a low score. Most likely you have AA and/or AF set high and quality settings. Also check to make sure you're not running alot of useless background apps at startup, like chat clients or media players.

If you're running xp try going to this websight:

Good tips for tweeking an XP gaming machines settings. I always use the SAFE settings and have yet to have anything not work properly in XP with games or any other app(other than known bugs).

WoW thats a big DW for dial up. Love to bench it but LOL. I have 9800NP have no idea what my 3dmark 2003 is though. 2k1 is dx8 bench, dont expect much gain in dx8 with a dx9 card. Its gains are more in dx9 mode. A ti4200 still does very well in dx8. I get 13k in 2001 also.
