Max Payne 2 Error

I bought Max Payne 2 yesterday and installed it on my system:

P4 2.4ghz 800FSB @ P4 3.12ghz 1ghzFSB
Western Digital 10,000 RPM SATA HD
P4P800 Deluxe Asus Mobo
Sapphire Radeon 9800 Pro
512mb PC3200 DDR400 Corsair XMS memory
Sound Blaster Audigy 1394 Sound Card
LG 52x32x52 CD-RW CD Drive
Windows XP Professional SP1

Everything works great until I get to the screen where I want to load the first mission, I get about 80% there but then it boots me back to desktop and restarts my computer. This is really messed up since no game should restart your system. Im sure my system can handle the game but I don't know if it might be a driver problem or something...any help would be appreciated

yeah I downloaded the patch but it still reboots the comp. I have a Zalman CNPS5700D-Cu CPU cooler. It works really good too...other then that Im not sure what to do. I thought the patch would correct the problem...

I think it's your ATi Drivers.!
Do you have the latest drivers?
If so, check if you have VPU Recover enabled in the Video Card Properties on the VPU Recover Tab. If it is enabled, disable it and see if it works.!
