About the max i've seen was an 800mhz k6-2, this was done with water cooling, I'm sure you can use any other fan out today that cools the athlon xp's very well since it's not a very hot cpu.
However don't expect much out of it tho, it's not a very good processor for gaming at all, atleast any newer games

I would be surprised if you got over 600mhz out of a K6-2 500. For one thing VERY few socket 7 boards are going to go over 600mhz. Besides with the price of a socket A board starting at $25 and a Duron 800 cpu at $30 I wouldn't put much money into a socket 7 setup. IMO

Well I had seen this at a store they had setup a k6-2 with the super socket 7 board.
It was interesting at the time, but i agree with you on that, would be a better idea to invest money into something better like an athlon machine, or duron which will still be much faster than a k6-2.

I know not to put money into a socket 7 setup but I have so much stuff for them now and I just want to make use of it and with the old at psu that are doing nothing right now I will have fun playing with them and maybe someone can use the system when I get done to play older games on or just e-mail with it.
Thanks for your help and I am getting a fic va503 board to run the AMD on. If i get 500 out of it that will be ok.
