what to do before upgrade?

I'm going from GeForce2 64mb mx/mx 400 to a FX5200 128mb

the manual says change to standard VGA drivers then shut down switch cards

how do you change to standard VGA drivers??

You should just be able to boot into safe mode, remove your current card from the device manager, power down, switch cards, power up, install new drivers.

If you want to change to standard VGA drivers, just go to your current card in device manager, right click--properties, driver--update driver, point to C:\Windows\INF, the standard MS video driver should be shown. Click next, next, etc..

Been a while since I've done this, so I might be a little off...not much though!

uninstall all nvidia drivers first --> shutdown pc --> install new video card --> turn on pc --> let windows autodetect new card --> update drivers using new nvidia detonator or forceware drivers

good luck.

you can download also some small software at guru3d.com that erases all previous installation of nvidia drivers..

What to do before upgrade? Get advice from someone you know and believe Dont cheated.

A friend of mine told me that he has bought a new PC with P4 processor in it. He bought it somewhere like 2 weeks ago before I get to know it. Then when running his OS, i have this feeling to check over his My Computer properties. It was a shock that I found out that his PC wasnt a P4 but P2. But outside the box cover says something different from the inside. Intel inside..could be anything Pity.

AMD for life...........................................

I have the real McCoys

hey But thats good advice to check things out first

way back in the 60's people would put bricks in boxes and say they had TV's for sale, "the hustle" has been around for a long time

I'm proud to belong to the Techimo community where we treat each other with respect and hold honesty and integrity deep in our hearts.

I've made a few deals here and not one problem
