Well i am runing a HP Pavilion 7905, great shape and very fast. I was thinking of using my pc as a TV but i dont want to buy one the pricie Media Center Computers. I know that in previous versions of windows, like 98 they had options of watching tv and i want to know how to get that option here, if i need extra hardware and what type of software. Also this might sound crazy but is there a "VCR Player" for a PC????

Thanks for you suggestions

Carlos

You basically need a TV tuner card, which you can pick up for around $50-100 depending on what you want for features. Software is included. If you want to hook up your DVD player, VCR, Camcorder, and/or your cable TV, then you will need to look at the input features closely.

A few guys here have them, I'm sure they'll chime in once they see some activity in this thread.

Nevermind I type too much!

can anyone suggest a card that they have and its good, or that you have heard about and they say it good. I am basically looking for one that i can hook up my cable to. I will be happy if it had a remote but not nesesaraly because i want to use it as a tv since i have a 22" screen. Thanks

PS: My computer has 256 MB of ram. Is that enough or do i need more?

I just bought a Leadtek tv2000xp from newegg.com that was refurbished, came at around $28. The reviews seemed very positive, so I guess thats a good choice.

I'm supposed to be getting Monday next week.
