amd 2500+ or 2600+

Well, I'm looking to spend about 130 bucks (at pricewatch.com) for an AMD processor. I have an Asus A7n8x Deluxe and am debating on whether to get a 2500+ or 2600+. I have no understanding of processors, I am just requesting any opinions on this subject, also, I'm looking for gaming speed in my processor choice. Thanks

2500xp everyone else will most likely say the same because of its overclocking potential

Grrrr... caching problems. Posting to see the replies.

Edit: Ah, I see them now. Well, I would still get the 2500+ even if I don't overclock. I like the $91 price tag.

2500+ hands down. I haven't heard much news about overclocking for the 2600+, but the whole internet knows the 2500+ is golden.

This is, is you want/know how to overclock. If you don't know how, I would learn because it's just SO easy, and basiaclly you pay $90 for a 3200+.

The 2500+ is 99% garunteed to overclock to 3200+ speeds without buying any special fans.

PS I'm running one right now.

forget the 2800. you can overclock to match 2800xp with the 2500xp if you want. its like you'd be paying more for less if you went with the 2800.

edit: on a side note, this forum has the option of displaying signatures and avatars of other members. im trying to enable it but it goes back to default. do i have to have a certain number of posts?

kfmcall,
what they are all telling you is that the price to performance ratio is in the 2500, on any decent mb with decent ram its an automatic xp 3200 by running it at 11x200, it is in effect a no brainer.

well AFAIK the 2600+ can oc good. i took mine to 11x200 and it runs great. since you dont know much about processors you probably wouldn't want to do overclocking, so getting whatever's fastest in that budget would be the best idea.
