I really like Mail Washer. So much that I am probably going to purchase Mail Washer Pro.

Honestly, I can't say since I don't use it myself. But, from what I understand it works off of other users reporting spam and building patterns. If that is the case it should work with all the spelling tricks they do.

I don't think any spam filter can catch an email and discard it as spam with the screwed up words..all spam filters I have seen so far is dependent on two things mostly, one is the words the user setup for the spam filter to look for, either in the subject or body. The second is the recipients email address. Many spams are sent bulk to the server, and does not have your exact address. Mail Washer Pro will mark these as 'not to me'..and you can auto delete them (or all) if wanted.

I don't believe that any spam filter is 100%, but so far I like Mail Washer Pro.

It must take a complete idiot who actually purchases anything from these spammers. There is only one thing I would buy from any of these spammers, and that would be his family jewels, if I could find someone who would personally go and collect them!

Mail Washer is separate. It opens first and shows you what emails are coming in. You then click the ones that you want to delete, bounce back, and blacklist. When you tell it to process the mail, it then links you over to your email program with only the emails that you chose to keep. So really, it's a two step process.

For my personal mail, I use SpamAssasin on the server side. I get MAYBE 1 spam a week in my inbox. The rest goto a spam box (even the mispelled ones and such). Every once in a while a check the spam one, today I had almost 1400 in there.

It's not available for Windows, which is why I didn't mention it. http://au2.spamassassin.org/index.html

theres a free one called spamcombat that has 3 filters; a HTML valitdator, a DNSBL filter, and a bayesian filter. it checks the emails while they're on the server.
