Help On Modding

I plan to do my first mod in about a week....

I have an Antec 1080 case that is Black in color any suggestions on what parts I should get for a first time mod?

Also what company has the best price for these mods?

Thanks!

is one of my favorites for modding supplies...
depends on what you want to do.... I would pick a theme and get a general idea of what you want to do with it and how "dirty" you want to get your hands...
If were talking buy-em-and-slap-em-on parts then theres little advice to give.... If were talkin Dremel time, then let us have it!

For a first mod, I would trya blowhole on the top of the case and adding a couple of fans. Or maybe try a window kit.

Putting a blowhole in was my first mod. It is pretty simple one to do but it is definatly worth it. I might try a window next. Good luck.

Window kit is the first thing to do to that case...it's made of hefty steel if it's like mine, so be prepared to do some serious cutting. I cut mine with a dremel, although a jigsaw would have been faster and probably cleaner in the end, with some dremel deburring, but it turned out pretty good. I've got some new pictures of my 120mm blow hole that need to be developed/scanned yet, which I cut with my jigsaw....

Nice Redfury. Cutting heavy steel with a Dremel. Lots of patience there.

I agree with the blowhole idea. Not too awful hard and very efficient. Good way to help control temps.

since modification is always coupled with extra cooling purpose, a blowhole is good on top and side. side panel fans act as intake while the top blowhole acts as exhaust. you now, hot air rises up principle. good luck. i would suggest a full window side panel just like red's case.
