9600XT 256MB or 128MB?

Should I get this...

256mb version

or

128mb version

??

The prices are the same, cept that with the 128 I'll get Half Life 2 when it debuts. And also the 256 version is an OEM. Would I notice a huge performance difference between the memory?

Get the 128MB. You'll be a lot happier with HL2 when it comes out than extra memory your card won't be using anyway.

Vote for 128 because other card is OEM and no HL2.

128 mb, a merely maximum requirement you can get.

There is a really good card for the same price which is almost double the performance.. but i dont want to intrude upon the thread so...

If the memory that comes on the 256MB card is either the same or faster than the 128MB, i would get that instead.
(since they are the same price)

Yeah, i'd also want to find out the speed of the 256MB version... As mentioned above, if its the same, or faster... I'd opt for that one as well.

i dont think a small performance increase is better than free hl2.

Well I gues then it is settled. I will get the 128 version from newegg.

I'm going to get like 50-60 dollars from my friend who wants to buy my (current) Geforce4 Ti4200 128MB. So the price comes down to 130. Then another 50 off for HL2, so it's like an 80 dollar card for me at least.

Thanks for all your opinions.

Hmm... I just read Tom's Hardware review for the XT. After reading that I must say the 9700 Pro is looking pretty good.
