DVD burner

I used to burn CDs with my DVD drive as a source and CD drive as destination. Now I have a 4X DVD burner (internal), I want to know what's the best way to hook up. Do I have to eliminate one drive or have all 3 together? Please help and some advice, thanks!

You can have all 3 if you have an ide channel open or you add an ide controller. I have my DVD-RW as a master and a CDRW as slave, a DVD-ROM on another cable and 4 harddrives. No problems.

Thanks J-Excel for your advice, so I should connect my hard drive (master) and DVD-ROM (slave) to the primary IDE, and the DVD burner (master) with CDRW (slave) to the secondary IDE, right?! then install the sofware (or do this first)?
Please correct if I'm wrong, thanks!

The only (slight) issue is that evidently if you put a dvd or cdrom on the same cable with a hard drive, the hard drive only runs at the same speed as the dvd or cdrom....so your nice ata133 or ata100 hard drive will "only" run at ata66 or ata33 (whichever the dvd or cdrom is)

so the best way is to leave hard drive alone on cable, then how to connect DVD burner, DVD ROM and CD-RW on the other cable? look like it's short of a nother cable, right?

As a general guide I keep all hdd on like controllers and CD/DVD on another. never had problems with speed, ripping or burning.
