Proximity to power lines isn't too much of a problem for quality Cat5e networking cable.

The only interference problems that I have heard of is when the cables are run near multiple flourescent lights.

I have two 25' cables that run across my ceiling in my workshop right next to 1 (dual tube) flourescent light, and I have no interference problems.
