WD and Raid 0

Just a quick question, what is the best jumper setting, CS or master both? Thanks in advance

Dunno that one is BETTER than the other or not...I usually use master / slave 99% of the time and frankly there is some confusion as to EXACTLY what cs does...cuz I think different manufacturers have implemented cs in slightly different ways.

But lots of oems like compaq and gateway etc seem to like cs.

ahh, sorry, I didnt see the "wd and RAID 0" aspect of the question.

I would think to put em both as Rick said..set em both as master on different channels.

Thanks guys, I use master on both with other brands and it works fine on separate channels so it should work with WD. :=)

I think by default, mine looks for both Masters first. I recall having them set Master/Slave on the same channel once and I added another drive to the second Master and it said I didn't have an array anymore. I had to do a little Ghosting and set them up Master/Master so I could add more drives as needed.

As it turns out there is no way in he** to get the sys to recognize
these new WD drives with the jumpers set to master, I had to set them as CS and all is well.

You may have to set them a "Single" position. You would only set to Master if there were another Slave present. WD's are finicky like that.

WD's take on it
