Even though this is so, egress filtering is being performed, so shouldn't this not even matter?

DVNT1 is on a distinguished road
By doing ingress and egress filtering you effectively stop the TCP/IP Sequence Prediction risk from outside your network... so it shouldn't matter in that regard.
