Whats a flipt top?
Im guessing its a dvdrom in the ps2 that doenst use the tray like the PSX rather uses a flip open drive like the PSX and portable cdroms, so that you can switch disks like you could with the PSX?
The mod chip just stays hooked to the USB port and alows you to boot to the disk without switching disks to load the game.

Mod chip stops cd checks. DVD-r's can be identified and regardless of how well copied-no go if it checks that. Stamped discs are boughten and hence Original copies. They just weaken the laser so it cant read the weaker DVD-r/w's is all. Mod chip stops that. Flip top is just a hot swap aint it. Thats not quiet as good. Also ever think ya might have gotten a bad .iso?
