Probably not. I have a Matrox G450 DualHead that came w/ one of those. I've tried it on several different cards and it doesn't work.

Please, check your PC & Video Card manual or manufacturer to make sure that your VGA card has TV-Out function capability to ensure this cable will work for you!

I have toyed with the carputer idea several times in the past, but keep running into one problem. Display size. Anything that I am willing to put in my car is just too small to be of any real use. And, for what you end up spending in time and bits you can get a Compaq M300 off e-bay and it will be more useful IMO.

I thought that as long as you make the resolution, refresh rate in the limits of what the screen can handle you are okay. Obviously trying to send 1600x1200, 100hz won't work for a TV, but 640x480, 60hz works fine.

yep thats what it says....you might find an old pci card that will support that somewhere or even with an rca plug built in

Honestly for computer use a small screen @ 640x480 @ 60Hz is terrible especially if youtry using it with XP to play DVDs.

I've built 2 carputers so far and working on a 3rd and honestly it's best to do it right the first time and take your time doing it.

The best deal I have found thus far is the 7in VGA Lilliput touch screen LCD displays. You can buy them for around $300 and I believe they will display up to 1024x768.. or you can opt for a Xenarc 7 inch touch screen that will display up to 1600x1200

Hey Pharaoh, I did a mobile PC in my Audi a few years back. A laptop really is the easy way to go, or mod a box to fit everything within to attach to the car in a quick-release fashion. You will need a touch-screen for it to be really useful at speed, tho! Mine had a wireless KB/Mouse combo that didn't light my fire :0(
