Gaming HELP!!!!!!!

Does anyone know how i can route a program through my norton personal firewall, for a program i use to download files. I fear it may be slowing down my downloads. Actually, i know it is, because i have unusually slow downloads using this one program.
The norton site has nothing on this topic in their faq

I am not sure I understand your question.

There is a downloading program that is going really slowly and you think it is cause of Norton's firewall? And you want to know if there is a way to use this program bypassing Norton's?

more info needed...

Which version of Norton Personal Firewall are you running, and on what OS?

Also, what is the name of the downloading program?

Here is a link on how to configure third-party apps to access internet in NPF 2003 or NIS 2003...read each title and see if they help.

I'll see if I can find out any info on it for you...Do you happen to know which port(s) it transfers data on?

Also, which remote program are you using?

You might need to change firewalls...check this page out...it's about the Azureus BitTorrent.

https://sourceforge.net/forum/forum....orum_id=291997

Cant find anything about the Mycomputer remote prog. on Kazaa...

Also...is the only problem youre having is slow connects? On torrent, or on remote program? (or not sure which is slowing down which)

Are you behind a router?

go here to search for a different remote program...just type in remote in the search box and see what comes up...

the tightvnc looks promising...

http://sourceforge.net/search/

Taken from bittorrent site;
"To get the best download speeds with BitTorrent, forward and/or unfirewall ports 6881-6999; and limit your upload rate to slightly less than your connection's maximum UL rate."

Have you seen this site yet? It has some routing info...

http://www.dessent.net/btfaq/#utils

scroll down to where it say's, "What ports does BitTorrent use? Will it work with a firewall/NAT?"
