Z680s Deep (not boomy) Bass!! Find out How U unsatisfied PPL!!!!

I set up my z680s in my living room an dthe bass was so damn deep~~!!!!! i didn't realize how deep the bass was until i put the sub a bit farther away then the setup on my computer. The higher bass frequencies, i'm talking about 50hz to 160hz were a bit less impactful, but the bass from 35hz to 50hz was a dream come true!!! its sounds like a car audio system with subs YES THAT DEEP and Clean! i just wanted to ask why it is this way. In certain places in teh room the bass was crazy!!! i don't know how to setup the z680s because some sites say that they should be at your side. I put my rear sats at the 8 o'clock and 4 o'clock position as if i was the center of teh clock. I put front sats at the 10:30 and the 1:30 position. And obviously i put the center at the 12:00 position. It this okay. The rear speakers have a sightly lower level, heightwise, since they are resting on a chair and the other one on my bed. I know this seems pointless as a post but i just wanted to ask whether i had teh right position and to correct the people that think the bass is too boomy. I say that it is just perfect and can be changed completely depending on how you set it up. And i have the v1.1.2 control pod. Is this the revised version with no hiss? i really think that there is no hiss audible unless you put your ears on teh speaker which no sane man would. lol. I also realized that the wires were a bit short for a home theater setup while these speakers have no problem whatsoever with lack of poewr and can fill even a large sized living room with sound and it shakes my floor boards and the walls (drywalls not concrete). Thanx for reading this and i hope i helped. No matter how pointless this post is i just wanted to tell you that the people not satisfied with the Bass from the z680s are crazy...no i'm kidding.....i'm just saying that they haven't tried much with them.....Really thanx for readiNg!!

You can turn the sub woofer down via the pod. Low bass frequencies are not directional. I have mine pointed at a corner so the bass bounces off the walls first. Even with that I have had to turn the sub waaayyyy down or it dominates to whole room and drowns out the other frequencies. Point the sub at a wall away from you and don't have it too near the satellites. You can always turn the sub up and believe me this system has a lot of power so don't worry about not having bass.

BTW what sound card do you have?

I hear the best positions for the rear speakers are directly to your left and your right, not actually behind you.

i have an augidy 2 BTW(answer to first reply).....!!!new issue!!!! i was so impressed with the bass output power that i decided to put a paper on the port to see how much it would shake.....(call me an idiot).....it did shake a lot..lol....but now i think i might have ruined the sub, it sounds like the paper is still there.....call me an idiot again*.......lol....i think that this is psychological but i'm just asking can anything go wrong when you have the port sealed from air flow at high volumes.....????

thanx....i am very scared right now i saved up for 2 years for these speaker, i hope i didn't break them...

it shouldn't have had an effect. Subs come with and without ports. With a port they tend to sound boomy and tend to go lower. If it is sealed they sound tight and they "bump" better.
I've put paper on a sub port too. It's just so tempting. So either there was something wrong with them when you bought it or there is something psycologially wrong with you.... :P

When will you people learn?! My Monsoon MH-505's have a bass port the width of my foot, and if I stick my toes in it the bass is horrible. Mora?
