Will it Fit?
Hello everyone, im currently thinking of buying an EVGA Geforce4 FX 5950 Ultra, or a Gainward Geforce4 FX 5950 Ultra. The thing is my mobo is an Asus P4P800 Deluxe and as anyone knows that has this board, and a long Graphic Card knows that there isn't even a Centimeter of space between the back of the card and the memory clips. So I was wondering if a 5950 can fit in this board or not. Thanks.

I'm sure it will. Most graphics cards are going to be long like that and get in the way of a memory clips. I even have an old PII 300mhz w/ a 4mb AGP card and it's in the way of all the memory clips...you just have to be careful when opening the memory clips if you decide to change out your ram or you might...well, magically kill your card. :-) And, I don't think you want to do that.

Hi Dr.$ilence, it is nice to know that you are doing research before you buy a $$$$$$ video card that is well over $400 bucks.

yes that will fit but you'll have to remove it to install the ram, at least in the first few dimm slots.

Sorry to crash in, but have you considered an ATI 9800 XT? It doesnt have a huge wankin' HS like the FX cards, and cost somewhat less as well. Plus, all FX cards might have problems in the future with DX9.

Yes Tony I did also look into 9800XT, but the problem is, is that from what Ive seen all XT's are 3.3v cards, and my board only supports 1.5v Cards. However if you can point out a 1.5v 9800 XT I would really appreciate it.

As in AGP voltages? 3.3 would be for 1x, 1.5 is 4x and .08 woould be for 8x. The 9800 supports ALL those.

Yea as in AGP Voltages, my board supports "AGP 8x/4x (0.8v & 1.5v Only)". So your saying that a 9800XT will work on my MOBO?. Please say yes........
