Bad Router???
I've recently lost my network on DSL. I can get on the internet if I plug one PC straight into the modem. I can't ping the router when plugged into the network from any PC.

How often do routers go bad? XP Pro on all computers.

Linksys BEFSR41

have you tried "rebooting" the router? Just by unplugging it for a while and then plugging it back in. Also, have you tried the system reset button? I would do that as a last resort though.

Can you ping the router? Connect to the routers config interface?
Does reulgar network traffic work? (LAN)

Yes and yes. I'm plugged straight into the modem now. I don't understand why I can't even ping the router. I'm not seeing any of the network.

When I'm plugged into the network, the link is lit up green. The ACT and Diag are not lit at all.

hmm ... i am assuming you are saying yes to my questions and not to jkron's. Maybe it was victim to a power surge? It definitely sounds like its got some kinda problem if you cant even ping it from any comp on your network.

somthing else that came to mind.... have you tried updating the firmware lately? Maybe that screwed it up?

well if you are NOT able to ping it or get to the web interface, there is little chance that you will be able to upgrade the firmware. I was just thinking if you had "attempted" to upgrade the firmware but somthing happened and it got messed up.

How old is it? How long have you been using it since it borked?
