easynote wont come out of hibernation

Hi There, have been given an old easynote vx laptop that needed a new hd, i bought a new one & installed xp pro, the new hard disk is working good & i had the laptop working for 2 days then instead of switching off from windows i used the power button to turn it off which made it go into hibernation because i hadnt changed the power settings & since then there has been no life in it at all! i have tried it with the power lead in & nothing happens when i press the power switch, no led lights at all, i have tried all the keys & have tried reseting the cmos memory but it still wont wake up!
Has anybody experienced this before? or is there anybody out there who knows how to make it come back to life again? Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!
Thanks

Does it have a 'Sleep' button as well? Try pushing that while powering it on.

Hey thanks for the your response guys
im sorry i should have said i have taken the main battery & the cmos 3v lithium battery out for an hour or so in an attemp to reset the cmos, after that i tried starting it without the hd but it still had no life. i cannot think of anything else to try because of its dormant state i have since taken the batteries off again & am going to leave them off for 24h. i reset the cmos before by taking the cmos battery off for 30 mins but i suppose anything is worth a try

& i cant find any sleep button or anthing else of the sort, its a french model though so some of the words i dont understand but they are on the keyboard itsself & not any of the main buttons at the top of the display.

would reseting the cmos do anything though? or is something else keeping it in hibernation?

thanks again for your help guys

Resetting the CMOS will only affect the CMOS settings. Are you getting any sort of indication that there's power to it? Any LED's light up when you plug it in? I'm wondering if the charging circuit is bad and you've basically just drained the battery. It probably isn't in Hibernation, just dead. You should be able to plug it in w/o the battery and get some sort of indication that there's power.

the led's do not even blink not even when i plug it into the mains & press the power button,
when it first happened i pressed the power button & it was set to hibernate instead of switch off i watched it shut down like it was hibernating normally it all seemed very normal until it wouldnt turn on again, before that all was fine i had it going for a couple of days & there didnt seem to be any problems.

What model is it? I would say the buttons are pretty much std as far as layout goes, I'd like to see what buttons this thing has.
I just find it odd that even w/ the A/C plugged in, you don't get any indication that it has power. Have you tried leaving the batt in and A/C plugged in for awhile to see if maybe the batt just needs some recharging?

i left it plugged into the wall for hours, i find it kinda strange aswell. it didnt go up in smoke or anything it shut down very normally that is why i dont get it, i will try & find a picture of it but all the info i have found so far has been in french, at first all the keys were in wierd places it was an azerty as opposed to qwerty & when i installed english windows on it i had to move the keys around

I've never seen a Dvorak keyboard, so I don't know how they're placed, but it could be one of those.

Anyway, does it just have a model # on it somewhere.

BTW, I PM'd you about how to get rid of your other thread you started.

EDIT - It ain't no Dvorak eiter.
